In a heartwarming ceremony on Monday, Mayor Pro Tem John Erickson bestowed upon Jones Hollywood and its dedicated vendors a commendation for their exceptional efforts in caring for the cafe's staff following a recent vehicular mishap that led to the temporary closure of the establishment.
A few weeks ago, a car collided with the cafe's façade, compelling a suspension of operations right at the onset of the holiday season. Undeterred by the unfortunate incident, the cafe and its vendors organized a successful fundraiser on November 28, amassing over $11,500 to provide support to the affected employees.
Erickson, in his presentation, expressed enthusiasm for such occasions, as they allowed for the recognition of individuals in the community who actively contribute to positive change. He commended those who went above and beyond to ensure the swift recovery of one of the local gems, Jones Hollywood, a place he humorously admitted to frequenting for late-night spaghetti indulgences.
Reflecting the sentiments of the business, Jones employee Floyd Lewis expressed profound appreciation, stating, "The love felt for Jones and its employees is truly indescribable. We are immensely grateful for the overwhelming support we have received."
